This training navigates the impact of anxiety and emotional responses to our client, through a trauma-informed lens. Join us as we talk about identifying triggers, coping skills that may assist in handling the negative input of social media/media, setting boundaries while working remotely, and staying physically and emotionally healthy through it all.
Learning Objectives:
Demonstrate understanding of trauma and trauma-informed care
List the principles of the trauma-informed approach and the 4 Rs
Describe at least 2 ways that providers can help ensure physical, psychological, and emotional safety for individuals and communities
Explain the impact of anxiety and emotional responses on client services
Identify at least 2 potential coping skills that professionals can use to support their own wellness while working with clients during the collective trauma of the COVID-19 pandemic
Trainers

Sharea Farmer is the Founder and CEO of RS Counseling & Wellness with over 17 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker. Her training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Racial Trauma.
Her expertise in both clinical and administration has allowed her to work in the private and public sectors as an advocate for employee wellness, Diversity and inclusion, Race Equity, and Trauma-Informed Practices. Her unique practice that focuses on empowerment and education creates transformative wellness for her clients who range from executive leadership teams to supervisors to staff. RS Wellness has developed employee resilience plans and trauma-informed care programs for state and public health agencies, as well as educational groups, both locally and nationally.
Sharea currently works in a practice setting that caters to Black and Latinx women, although not exclusively, as well as couples and adolescents. Her empowerment approach focuses on helping people identify and bring out their distinctive strengths while overcoming barriers to happiness and success. Her goal is to help clients create a quality life filled with purpose and self-love. Sharea encourages clients to embrace the concept that wellness and happiness lie within their control.
Although Sharea is not accepting new one-on-one counseling clients, she is always looking for new partnerships with organizations, government agencies, and corporate clients interested in healing and wellness.
Sharea lives in New Jersey with her husband. She enjoys all things basketball, live NBA games, traveling, coloring, and spending time with family and friends.
Sherry C. Wherry, LSW, I am the CEO/Founder, and Empowerment Strategist of Wherry Consultations, LLC. I am passionate about empowering individuals to be their best selves. I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and earned my Master of Social Work from Temple University. I have also completed a certificate of training in Professional Development Coaching from the RS Counseling & Wellness Center (RSCWC). I have extensive experience in Social Services and empowering individuals to accomplish their educational, professional, personal, and spiritual goals. I also serve as a licensed Minister in my local church. My ultimate purpose undergirds everything that I do which is to reflect the love of God by loving the abandoned; paving a path to restoration for those who have failed and have been rejected; and being a source of emotional, and spiritual healing for those who need it most.
