Those who have been licensed for at least 12 months but less than 18 months have a requirement of 30 contact hours. A maximum of 15 credit hours may be earned via online/distance learning. Those who have been licensed for less than 12 months have a requirement of 23 contact hours. A maximum of 11 credit hours may be earned via online/distance learning. For all licensees, at least 2 credit hours must be in professional ethics, addiction, domestic violence, and cross-cultural competence. For all licensees, no more than half of the total credit hours may be earned via distance learning.

California CE Requirements

LCSW: 36 hours every 2 years. The license expires based on the date of issuance. California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
No limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online. Telehealth: Effective July 1, 2023, the Board will begin requiring both applicants for licensure and licensees to have completed a minimum of three hours of training or coursework in the provision of mental health services via telehealth, which must include law and ethics related to telehealth. For supervisors: 6 hours of supervision each renewal period. 15-Hour Training for New Supervisors: Requires persons licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences who commence supervision for the first time in California on or after January 1, 2022, to complete 15 hours of supervision training or coursework. 6 hours of suicide risk/assessment will be a one-time requirement. 7 hours HIV/AIDS required the first renewal period only. 6 hours Law & Ethics each renewal period.

Colorado CE Requirements

ASWB ACE & NBCC approved provider. Licensees should accrue at least 40 PDH during each 2-year renewal cycle. No more than 20 PDH may be accrued in a single PDA category during a 2-year renewal cycle. A maximum of 5 hours may be carried from the last renewal cycle to the next cycle, if the hours were earned within 3 months of the renewal cycle and are in excess of the required 40 hours. Example: A licensee accrues 48 hours within the 2-year renewal cycle—an excess of 8 hours. Five of the excess hours were accrued during the last 3 months of the cycle. The other 3 were accrued earlier in the cycle. The 5 hours earned in the last 3 months can be carried into the next renewal cycle. Documentation (e.g. certificates) of the 40 PDH should not be sent to DORA unless specifically requested to do so. If a license has been lapsed or a licensee is selected for an audit, verification documentation is required. Certain license and certificate types are not to participate in the CPD program. These types are: Certified Addiction Counselors Level I (levels II and III do participate) Psychologists Unlicensed Psychotherapists PDA Categories that can be used for credit: (1) Coursework PDH may be accrued for credit for the coursework category through continuing education. A total of 20 PDH may be accrued in the Coursework category. Our online/web courses fall under this category. (2) Independent Learning PDH may be accrued for credit for the Independent Learning category through Reading Journals and professionally relevant literature. A total of 20 PDH may be accrued in Independent Learning activities during each 2-year renewal cycle.

Connecticut CE Requirements

15 hours every year. The license expires based on the birth month. Ace ASWB-approved providers.
There is a limit of 6 hours of continuing education that can be completed online. First-time renewals are exempt from continuing education requirements. 1 hour of cultural competence each renewal period. 2 hours at initial licensure and every 6 years thereafter on the topic of mental health conditions common to Veterans and family members of veterans.

Dist. of Columbia CE Requirements

40 hours every 2 years. The license expires on 7/31 (odd years). District of Columbia Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
There is a limit of 12 hours of continuing education that can be completed online. Covid Waiver: The Board has extended the suspension of the live, in-person, face-to-face requirements, effective during the current licensure term from August 1, 2021, to July 31, 2023. This means that all hours can be obtained online through 7/31/2023. 6 hours of ethics each renewal period. Ethics courses must be taken in person. See the Covid waiver above, all hours can be obtained online through 7/31/2023. 2 hours LGBTQ each renewal period. 4 hours of coursework on Public Health Priorities.

Six (6) hours of the thirty (30) hours shall be in ethics and the remaining twenty-four (24) hours may consist of current and emerging issues in marriage and family therapy such as: (a) Non-Traditional Families; (b) Domestic Violence; HIV; (d) Aging; (e) End of Life Issues; (f) Addiction and Psychopharmacology; or (g) Trauma.

Florida CE Requirements

30 hours every 2 years. License expires 3/31 (odd years). Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
CMSW: First-time renewals are exempt from continuing education requirements. 3 hours of laws and rules every third biennium. 2 hours of domestic violence every third biennium. 3 hours of ethics each renewal period. 2 hours of medical errors each renewal period. LCSW/LMFT/LMHC: First-time renewals are exempt from continuing education requirements. 3 hours of ethics or teletherapy each renewal period. Courses must be taken in alternating biennial renewal periods. 2 hours of medical errors each renewal period. 2 hours of domestic violence every third biennium. 3 hours of laws and rules every third biennium. 4 hours of supervisor training every third biennium for qualified supervisors only. This must be completed every third biennium. Initial Licensure: As a condition of initial licensure, the board requires 3 hours of HIV/AIDS training.

Georgia CE Requirements

35 hours every 2 years. The license expires on 9/30 (even years). Georgia Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
Synchronous/Asynchronous Limits: A maximum of 10 hours of continuing education may be obtained through self-paced/asynchronous activities. 25 hours must be through live/synchronous activities. 5 hours of ethics each renewal period. The Board requires that ethics courses be obtained through synchronous activities only. Of the remaining 30 hours, a minimum of fifteen (15) shall be core hours and not more than fifteen (15) shall be related hours.
ASWB ACE & NBCC Provider 35 CE credit hours required every 2 years — 10 may be earned online. Thirty-five (35) hours of continuing education are required to be obtained within the two (2) year biennial licensure cycle to renew each license, including associate level licenses. **A maximum of ten (10) hours of continuing education may be obtained asynchronously (self/home study) for each two-year renewal period. A minimum of five (5) of the thirty-five (35) hours shall be specifically designated as continuing education in professional ethics relating to any of the specialties of professional counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy. Illinois CE Requirements

A minimum of 50% of the total CE hours required must be obtained by a method that includes face-to-face, in-person instruction or experience. 3 hours of cultural competence each renewal period. 1 hour of implicit bias training is required per renewal period. 3 hours of ethics each renewal period. 1-hour sexual harassment prevention each renewal period. Mandated Reporter training is required every three years.
Approved provider of NBCC. 30 CE credit hours are required every 2 years — 30 may be earned online. All clinical professional counselors are required to complete 18 hours of clinical supervision training of the 30 continuing education hours required. This is a one-time (lifetime) requirement. Implicit Bias Training – A minimum of 1 hour of training every renewal. This can be a 1CE training or training that meets the requirements of the rule and may not offer CEs. Sexual Harassment Prevention Training – A minimum of 1 hour of training every renewal. This can be a 1CE training or training that meets the requirements of the rule and may not offer CEs. The training must meet the requirements listed in the rule. Mandated Reporter Training – A minimum of 1 hour of training every renewal. This can be a 1CE training or training that meets the requirements of the law and may not offer CEs. The training must meet the requirements listed in the law. Alzheimer’s Education – A minimum of 1 hour of training every renewal. This can be a 1CE training or training that meets the requirements of the law and may not offer CEs.

27 hours every 2 years. The license expires on 12/31 (even years). Iowa Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.

We do not currently offer this course. 6 hours of suicide prevention are required once every six years. CSW: In addition to all of the requirements listed above, as of 3/15/2022, all CSWs in supervision must also complete supervision training. LCSW: LCSWs must also complete 3 hours of supervision each renewal period. The Kentucky Board requires that supervision courses be approved by the board. We do not currently offer this course.

If you select material relevant to marriage and family therapy it’s likely it will be accepted by your board, but it will require board approval. Louisiana CE Requirements

As a requirement of initial licensure, candidates must complete training to identify victims of human trafficking. no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online; however, at least 22.5 (or 50%) of the 45 hours must be through LIVE interactive webinars. LBSW/LMSW: 2 hours of human trafficking each renewal period. 2 hours of pain/symptom management or stress management each renewal period. 5 hours of ethics each renewal period. In addition to the 45-hour CE requirement, 1 hour of implicit bias training is also required for each year of the renewal cycle (3 hours total).
Michigan Board of Counseling or Marriage & Family Therapists does not require continuing professional education. However, you are certainly welcome to join our membership.

Minnesota CE Requirements

(5) Credit for continuing education shall be recognized in accordance with the following: (a) unlimited hours shall be recognized for continuing education completed in blocks of time of not less than one hour in formally established classroom courses, seminars, or conferences which meet the criteria listed in Subsection (4) above, and which are approved by, conducted by, or under the sponsorship of universities, colleges or professional associations, societies and organizations representing a licensed profession whose program objectives relate to the practice of mental health therapy; (b) a maximum of 14 hours per two year period may be recognized for: (i) teaching courses under Subsection (5)(a); or (ii) supervision of an individual completing the experience requirement for licensure as a mental health therapist; © a maximum of 15 hours per two year period may be recognized for clinical readings, internet or distance learning courses directly related to practice as a mental health therapist; and (d) a maximum of two hours per two year period may be for continuing education from the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Due to Covid, QMHP’s are required to take 16 credits for period ending June 30, 2021 and LPC’s and MFT’s are required to take 40 credits (4 in ethics) for period ending June 30, 2021. 2 credit hours must emphasize the ethics, standards of practice or laws governing behavioral science professions in Virginia. An individual holding a QMHP-A and QMHP-C must renew their registration by June 30thof each year. QMHP-Trainees are not required to renew. QMHPs are required to complete a minimum of eight contact hours of continuing education for each annual registration renewal. A minimum of one of these hours must be in a course that emphasizes ethics. As of September 3, 2008, those newly registering to supervise are required to complete 3 graduate credits related to supervision or 20 hours of continuing education from a board-approved CE provider. Those currently supervising are required to complete the educational requirement by Sept. 3, 2010. Due to Radiant Sunshine’s approved provider status, our supervision courses apply to this requirement. Radiant Sunshine is approved to offer continuing education courses by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).

Washington CE Requirements

SWA/SWI: 36 hours every 2 years. The license expires yearly on or before the licensee’s birthday. SWIA/SWAA: 18 hours every year. The license expires based on the date of issuance. Washington board of Social Worker accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
SWA/SWI/SWIA/SWAA: There is a limit of 26 hours of continuing education that can be completed online. Every 6 years, licensed social workers must complete 6 hours of training in suicide assessment, treatment, and management. We do not currently offer this course. 6 hours of ethics every 2 years. Beginning January 1, 2021, health care professionals (excluding physicians) who are offering telemedicine services to patients, are required to complete telemedicine training.
36 CE credit hours required every 2 years — 26 may be earned online. 6 credit hours must be in professional ethics 6 credit hours must be in suicide assessment, treatment, and management (1)(A) Each of the following professionals certified or licensed under Title 18 RCW shall, at least once every six years, complete training in suicide assessment, treatment, and management that is approved, in rule, by the relevant disciplining authority. c) The training required by this subsection must be at least six hours in length, unless a disciplinary authority has determined, under subsection (8)(b) of this section, that training that includes only screening and referral elements is appropriate for the profession in question, in which case the training must be at least three hours in length. West Virginia CE Requirements

LSW/LGSW/LCSW/LICSW: 40 hours every 2 years. Provisional License: 20 hours every 2 years. Service Worker Registrant: 20 hours every 2 years. The license expires based on the date of issuance. The West Virginia Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE. Please note: Provisional licenses are not eligible to take independent study or online coursework to their continuing education requirement.
LSW/LGSW/LCSW/LICSW: 40 hours required. There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online; however, 10 of the 40 required hours must be through live interactive webinars. 1 hour of ethics each renewal period. 2 hours of mental health specific to veterans and their families each renewal period. Service Worker Registrant: 20 hours required. 1-hour ethics each renewal period. 2 hours mental health specific to veterans and their families each renewal period. Courses must be taken either online or face to face, and Service Worker Registrants are not eligible to use independent study. Provisional License: 20 hours required. Provisional licensees are not required to earn hours on veterans mental health. Provisional licenses are not eligible to take independent study or online coursework to their continuing education requirement. Proof of required CE must be electronically submitted directly to CE Broker. Radiant Sunshine DOES NOT submit to CE. You MUST self-report to CE Broker. 40 CE credit hours are required every 2 years — 20 may be earned with Radiant Sunshine. distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for Professional Counselors, as set forth by the West Virginia Board of Examiners in Counseling. Radiant Sunshine is approved to offer continuing education courses by NBCC

Wisconsin CE Requirements

30 hours every 2 years. The license expires on 2/28 (odd years). Wisconsin Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online. 4 hours of ethics each renewal period. Important: MPSW 19.02 (2) (b) requires social work credential holders to complete their ethics and professional boundaries CE hours in an interactive learning format. MPSW 19.02 (2) defines an “interactive learning format” as a live, synchronous presentation with discussion or an asynchronous educational program by an ASWB ACE-approved provider. Radiant Sunshine is an ASWB ACE-approved provider, and therefore, licensees can take ethics courses in either a live or recorded format. First-time renewals are exempt from continuing education requirements.
30 CE credit hours are required every 2 years — 30 may be earned online. LPC Renewal: All 30 credits required for LPCs may be earned through CE-Credit.com. At least 4 of the 30 credits need to be in “professional counselor ethics and professional boundaries”. MFT Renewal: 15 of the 30 credits required for MFT renewal may be earned through Radiant Sunshine. Please note that our ethics courses may not be used to satisfy MFT’s ethics requirement. Radiant Sunshine is approved to offer continuing education courses by ASWB and NBCC.

Wyoming CE Requirements

45 hours every 2 years. The license expires on the licensee’s birthday.
CSW/LCSW/PCSW: There is no limit to the number of continuing education hours that can be completed online. 3 hours of ethics each renewal period. 3 hours of suicide prevention each renewal period.
45 credit hours every 2 years on your date of birth. 45 CE credits in the licensing renewal period may be distant learning (online/homestudy) courses. 3 credit hours must be in professional ethics and 3 in suicide assessment and intervention. Radiant Sunshine is approved to offer continuing education courses by the ASWB and the NBCC.

Radiant Sunshine, #1403, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
