
Sharea Farmer is the owner of RS Counseling & Wellness with over 20 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker. Her training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Racial Trauma Therapy.
Sharea's unique approach to wellness, blending clinical and administrative expertise, has positioned her as a leading advocate for employee wellness, Race Equity, and Trauma-Informed Practices in both private and public sectors. Her focus on empowerment and education has consistently delivered transformative wellness to diverse clients, from executive leadership teams to supervisors to staff.
Her work has been rooted in understanding and addressing systemic barriers faced by BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities. She ensures that inclusive policies and practices are implemented with cultural humility and equity at the forefront. Sharea has led the development of the Racial Equity committee, programs, and initiatives, contributed to DEI-related research, policy changes, and training programs, and actively mentored others in adopting DEI practices.
Through her role as Consultant and Trainer, Sharea continues to advocate for transformative change, ensuring that Race Equity and Trauma-Informed values are not just aspirational but actively reflected in everyday practices and organizational culture. In recent projects, Sharea has led the development of Racial Equity training, committees, DEI initiatives, and trauma-informed supervision across government, public health, and nonprofit agencies in Philadelphia, Delaware, and New Jersey.
Sharea received a BA in Sociology from Rider University and a Master’s of Social Work from Rutgers. She worked as an adjunct professor at Rutgers for over fifteen years in the Social Work Graduate department. Sharea is a National Committee Member for the National Association of Social Work.; Supervision and Leadership Committee. She previously served on the World Childhood Foundation Advisory and the National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation's DEI committee.
Sharea lives in New Jersey with her husband. She enjoys all things basketball, including live NBA and WNBA games, traveling, coloring, and spending time with family and friends.
